Located in the farming heartland of Ancaster, Ontario, one hour from the U.S. border, our bakery was founded in 1979 by John and Ellie Voortman. It all started with a great idea to supply the local community with preservative-free baked goods in a 2,000 square foot bakery attached to the Voortman’s horse stables. The bakery grew at such an accelerated pace that the stable was soon shut down to allow the bakery to expand. And expand we did.
Today, with over 237,000 square feet dedicated to our bakery operation and over 30,000 square feet of onsite freezer space, we boast over 11 production lines and bake over 400 high quality and consistently produced fresh and frozen products for our in-store and foodservice clients across North America. Our bakery is Kosher certified as well as organic through the OCCP. We are a first rank high volume and highly efficient bakery that specializes in key product categories.
